I am very pleased with this design as the final result mirrors the vision I had in my head while creating it! This hat is first knit to a 26” circumference, then two inverted pleats are folded to the head circumference you need and each is tacked down with a button. Easy as can be!

For an assymetrical look, you can wear the buttons on the side of the head. Or, you can wear them at the back of the head for a rasta style.

The band is knit in linen stitch and the sides of the hat are knit in a undulating rib. I’m so pleased with the end result that I’m already at work on another design using the same construction… The pleats make it possible to fit this hat to just about any head!
