Zen is an idea that was floating around in my mind for some time. Once I charted it, I couldn’t stop. This design is non-gender specific, and it comprises easy colorwork repeats allowing for a zen-like peaceful experience for the knitter. It flows. The fact that the mitts are stranded means there’s double the amount of fingering wool for added warmth without added bulk. I have included instructions for fingerless mitts, and you can wear them over glove liners for additional warmth while freeing fingers for texting. You also have the option to include a secret pocket that can securely hold valuables like cash or keys. Because the mitts are directionless, you can choose to wear the pocket on the outside of one hand, or on the inside of the other. You can add or delete pattern and round repeats to adjust sizes, and you can go up or down needle sizes to change sizes, too. The mitts can be made to fit anyone. I enjoyed working this pattern so much that I also designed a hat, socks, and even a shawl!
