The patterns in the Picnic Leaves ebook were designed for the Red Riding Hood Yarn Club 2012 and feature DK weight yarn.

The first pattern is the cupcake hat, which could be a spring treat or autumn toned.

The hat comes in four sizes:
Size 1: baby (not newborn) 14 inch
Size 2: Toddler approx 16 inch
Size 3: Child approx 18 inch
Size 4: Teen/Adult approx 20 inch

Little mittens to match the hat: what could be cuter? These mittens are knit flat and then seamed afterwards. You will need circular needles or DPNs for knitting the thumb. You can knit them as mittens, or make fingerless mittens if you would prefer.
