Tangled Yarns

Our Saturday social gathering is such a lovely, friendly, inspirational group of clever crafters. I often try to steal a little time and enjoy a coffee with the ladies while working on Saturday.

I love to see what everyone is working on and I am often inspired by the amazing finished projects that are brought in to share. Last week a certain project caught my eye… (yes, I am blaming you miss Anita!)

I have literally had this pattern since Ysolda first released it.

My dilemma has always been which yarn to use but this time the perfect yarn jumped out at me - Madeline Tosh Vintage, in Thunderstorm.

In true Kelly fashion, I picked my buttons before I cast on!

I’m not sure I would recommend casting on an increasing lace yoke whilst chatting but somehow I managed to get the yoke mostly finished by the end of Saturday evening.

The last sleeve was cast off Wednesday night and a bath in soak before blocking on Thursday. This is really one of those projects that is transformed by some simple blocking.

Hot from the needles, a way too small, springy, lumpy, bumpy pile of stitches…

To a open, lacy, drapey, fitting perfectly cardi!
