Using a variety of cotton and linen weaving yarn (laceweight and finer). Yellow and pink are the two colors in the first one.
I really like the cloths I made from the leftovers of the housewarming present. Very thick and absorbent and sponge-like. Good stash-buster for weaving yarn that I might not get to otherwise.
Found groupings of yellow, orange and blue green cones that I wound into balls. The yarn is about worsted weight and I have knit 9 dishcloths so far. Still need to weave in ends. Also, I’m interested in what they look like after washing. I know that the fibers will shrink up, because that is what you are planning for when you weave with them.
oOOooooh! Just had an idea! I think I will bring them to my sister’s in an egg carton. A dozen dishcloths. Then everyone can pick a few, just like you do with the Easter eggs!
Washed and dried they are great! A little small, maybe, but since they are thick, they will fit smaller hands better at this size. That’s my story anyway! I may never have a store bought dishcloth again! I have so much fine cotton and linen coned yarn, I could do hundreds of these!
