09.06.17 - finally got to Denver to see the hat!

After suggestion from the designer (thank you!) I felted the hat a bit more. It fits Ben’s big head, but has a bit more body to it.

07.28.17 - This is the Balmoral Highland Bonnet in medium. My husband is modeling, but we expect to see Ben in a couple of weeks (he lives in Denver) and we’ll get photos of him at that time. He’s got the panache for this hat.

I didn’t do the toorie, I did the i-cord loop.

In retrospect, I wish I had done the black stripe in red, and used the red in the center of dicing. It would have been a little less dominant and a nicer pop of color.

06.20.17 - I finally picked this back up to finish it after my discouraging beginning.

03.27.17 - aargh! knitted the hem, the turning row and began the dicing when I discovered I had 4 extra stitches. Hard to make the 3x3 color changes with 4 extras, right? Ripped it all out and I’ll start again. Dang…
