Claire saw this sweater Elementary and really loved it. Well, getting Claire to actually ask for something knitted is so very rare. So here we go…

Knitted in Cascade 220 fingering weight yarn, can’t really get gauge with the needles called for, so I’ve gone up to a size 5.

I got all the way to the color work on the yoke and decided that even though I had gauge, the fabric was far too ‘sleazy’ and loose. I decided to use Cascade 220 sport. I got gauge with size 4 needles, and I liked the fabric much better.

I had to do the yoke three more times before I was successful. With the short rows, it was not good knitting for television watching. I also had some difficulty paying attention correctly to the increases. The third time I finally made it. It’s only because Claire liked the sweater so much that I continued.

In retrospect, the instructions were not unclear. I just did not pay sufficient attention.

Once I made it to the color work yoke and had the correct number of stitches, it was a lovely knit. The Cascade 220 fingering weight makes a warm, very lightweight, sweater.
