A secret commission from Claire and Julie for a coworker. They’ve sent along his measurements. They measured a heavy fleece that fits him well - of course, this measurement is between the pattern sizes.

Excellent car knitting for our recent trip to Denver. Two sleeves (I like to use sleeves as the swatch) and a nice start on the body.
I was afraid that my body gauge was off, but putting it on the Try-It-On Tubing let me verify the size and gauge on my husband. All is well. (By the way - get some of that Try-It-On Tubing - it’s entirely awesome!)

Out of black yarn. Made a mistake and ordered two of the grey contrast yarns and only one black. Ordered more black today.

Left the sweater on the sewing table while stitching the steek. It apparently was too close to the light. It was smoking by the time I got back to it. Large hole burned into the body.
In time out while I decide how to treat this.
Rip out and knit down? Start again at the bottom and kitchener the new bottom half to the old top half?

Ripped out from the burned spot, laboriously tearing out one stitch at a time. Started anew from the bottom of the sweater. Kitchener grafted the two halves together. I think this is going to work.

Two halves grafted together look pretty seamless.
Steek sandwich (see Kate Davies) - I wasn’t sure this would work with a bulky yarn like Lopi, but it’s just fine. Love the buttons.
This really didn’t need to take this long - I just felt defeated after it burned the hole in the front. I’m very pleased to have finished it.
It’s off to Decorah with my daughter. We’ll see if it fits Aaron as well as it fits my husband. I’m hoping for a picture of him wearing it.
