Notes

Ben does SCA reenacting and wanted a pair of gauntlets. After looking at a few of the patterns available on Ravelry, I thought I could put something together.

He chose the Tempered High Carbon Steel (SCALE-SMMSK-HARD) scales. I supplemented with the Titanium scales (Mixed - SCALEsm-TIMix) to add a little flash.

I started these with a partial ball of yarn, thinking I had enough for a pair of fingerless mitts. I was wrong! I had enough for 1.5 mitts.

And it’s not as easy to find Plymouth Galway in the area anymore. I ended up with an internet search and the yarn came from Delaware. I waited impatiently, as I wanted to finish these.

These scales are really fun to use. I keep wanting to knit another row, just to see how it looks!

Generic fingerless mitts pattern, improvised as I went along.

Scale mail purchased from the Ring Lord website. These are size small scales.
