Notes

2017.01.07 - AAARGH! 2.5” of 2x2 ribbing on 172 stitches. I thought I had 192 stitches! Only discovered the error when I changed to size 8 needles to begin doing the basket weave pattern on the body. I’ve said it before and I have to say it now - Process, not product, right? Time to start over.

Ben wanted this in the ‘Spoonwood’ colorway, but I accidentally ordered ‘Penstock’. He likes this color too, so I’ll proceed.

He has a 44” chest and would like a 46” finished size, so I’ll make some adjustments in the stitch counts.

13.5 inches on lower body - still need four more inches. love this squishy yarn

Sleeves and body finished, but not assembled, I took this out to Denver and had Ben try it on. He’s been very fitness oriented lately, and the body is TOO BIG.
He likes the shoulder fit, but the body will have to go. I’ll try ripping out from the underarms down. This may be tricky on a bottom up sweater, but it’s worth a try. Knitting that dang collar took much longer than I thought!

You can see where I’ll be ripping from in the photo. I have the needle through the stitches I’ll keep.

2018.01.06

Went down to size 7 needle and knitted down to the waist. Now that I’ve finished, I can see where I reversed direction and did the new knitting. Who knew this would look so different knit down, rather than up? It must be the way the purl stitches display.

My family says they never noticed it until I pointed it out. I guess it’s not too obvious, so this project is done.

I need to get it in the mail to Denver for my son.

2018.01.13

Ben sent along a quick photo.

Sleeves will need to be shortened, when I see him again.
