12.18.14 - Finished. They’re very pretty. Won’t knit these again. If a mistake is possible, I made it. I actually knitted two left mittens, almost to completion. Aaargh. Basically, I knitted four mittens to get this pair.

12.15.14 - First mitten half way through, knitted on size 2 needles with DK yarn. VERY TIGHT. TOO TIGHT. Stopped and restarted again on size 4 needles. These are still small, but I took the completed left mitten to work and had friends with small hands try them on. The consensus was that they are fitted, but not too tight. Bekky has narrow hands - I’m going to proceed at this gauge and hope they will fit her ok.

Picture shows completed mitten, first small mitten, and the started right mitten. They don’t look that different in the photo, but you sure can tell when you put them on your hand.

By the time I did 1.5 mittens, the charts are simpler and the knitting is faster.

so far, not my favorite mitten pattern…

12.9.14 - I thought these would be quick mittens to finish before Christmas. I was mistaken. The cabling in color is more complicated than I anticipated.

I probably need to enlarge the charts - I find they are difficult to read to ensure I’m getting the colors right in the cables.
