Notes

This came about because my builder said he couldn’t understand why people found making things relaxing or interesting!! So I thought I’d make something for him that he could (hopefully) appreciate, like and would make him feel all warm inside ;-) (that’s why I make things!!!!)
I made this up as I went along and being the daft so and so I am, I didn’t write the pattern down. So here are some rough notes to what I did rather than a line by line.
The trowel was made in 3 sections the blade, the handle and the tang (trust me that’s correct it has to be it’s on the www! ;-)). For the blade, I used James C Brett marble chunky, casting on 3 stitches using 4m needles then using stocking stitch increased each knit row at each side by 3, so managed to get the quick increase and the quick widening at the base of the blade. Stocking stick for about another 5 rows, then changed to 3.25 mm needles stocking stitch for another 6 rows then started decreasing 1 stitch each end of the knit rows until 3 stitches remained, I cut the yarn and then pulled through….. tbc..
