Notes

I’m hoping this will work out the way I have it in my mind. Same garter border mod as my last one, I dug through my patterns and found the chart I made last time so at least I don’t have to figure that part out this time.

I scaled down an original scarf for the border to replace the ribbing. Based on the number of stitches in the pattern, plus the extra stitches for my garter edge, it ended up working out to about .625 scale to get the full sequence. I didn’t do the full scaled width though. I originally started with it 20 stitches wide but I didn’t like how it was proportioned with the rest of the shawl. I dropped down to 13 stitches and I’m happy with how it turned out. I’m debating on whether or not I want to add little tassels to the ends. I want to because of the scarf but I’m not sure if I want to deal with dangly bits on the shawl.

Some people have been wondering what the significance of the yarn I used for the lace potion was. I wanted something that looked somewhat nebula-like, and the Zen Yarn Garden was perfect in the skein. It didn’t work up quite as nebula-ish as expected, but I fell in love with it and decided to keep it in there.
