Notes

Really pretty and should make good use of BBE (Brown Bag Exchange) yarn (which will be specified once we have the “reveal” party in May 2020)

Destashing!

Using a bunch of my stash yarn (at least 8 colors) …all with nature-related color names: tomato, dijon (mustard is natural), sky, moth, nut, chestnut, wren, cloud, and maybe melon….in keeping with the designated theme of the BBE.

I am totally giving up on a scarf or shawl. This is the stressful aspect of a BBE for me: worrying about the style and color and sizing of something for the recipient.
So, I am crocheting a basket that can surely be put to good use. I am using the BBE yarn held together with various amounts of all of my “nature colors”.

02-10-2020

Switched to much smaller hook for the sides of the basket to make it firmer.
I am loving this pattern and may make one for myself and/or for gifts for my knitting friends. It’s easy, fun, and fast!
This also might become a BBE go-to if I participate again.
Switched to hdc for body of the basket because it goes faster! slightly_smiling_face

Finished! Switched back to sc when forming the handles.
Used up all my BBE yarn. Replaced it with 2 strands of my stash yarns to finish.
Marking it finished, but planning on trying to create a removable stiffener of plastic canvas. Interesting to see if it will work.
