When I started knitting this I thought it would be a good idea to knit it bigger so by the time I’d finished it Lily would still be able to wear it for more than a few weeks!? So I am knitting size 1-2 years (Lily is 10 months now Sept 12). When I’d finished I found the sleeves were a lot shorter than I thought they’d be so I extended them & finished them off with a picot cast off, also I extended the length of the cardi & added the picot cast off which I love. I can’t wait for Lily to wear it.

12/10/12 Woo Hoo finally finished at last, I don’t like sewing up?!

I’m so glad I lengthened the sleeves, if I’d left them as the pattern stated, they would have been far too short. Also the fit of this cardigan is ‘fitted’, the rib area ‘gives’ but not hugely. The sizing I chose was 1-2 years & Lily is only 10 months & of average size, but I can’t see this fitting her for that long.
