Notes

Using almost scrap and leftover yarn and flower patterns from all over the place, improvising to create filet crochet squares, and adding Border No. 40 from Edie Eckman’s wonderful “Around the Corner” book, this afghan was inspired by the “Quirky Throw” on Anthropologie’s website. Main differences: mine was not freeform like theirs, since my right brain wouldn’t cooperate, and mine was in easy-care acrylic worsted yarn instead of cotton. When I laid out the squares and photographed them for placement, I thought the thing would be a goofy-looking mess, but once it was put together, I was pretty pleased with the outcome.
