2nd ball joined for row 16 on 2nd repeat of MPC.
3rd ball joined for row 9 on 4th repeat of MPC.

I think it’ll be touch and go as to whether I’ll have enough yarn. According to the pattern, I need 45% of my total yarn to complete the border and cast-off. I have 41%….

Row 7 of border chart used 3.8 gr.
Row 8 used 3.7 gr.
Row 9 used 4.0 gr.
4th ball joined for row 10 of border. (51.4 gr remain)
Row 10 used 4.2 gr.
Rows 11-16 used 3.8-3.9 gr each.

24 gr remaining for last two rows and cast-off.

Rows 17 & 18 used 7.5 gr.

So, 16.5 gr for the cast-off. I’m estimating 21 gr needed, so I don’t think I’ll make it.

All done! 19.3 gr used for the cast-off. I scrounged the extra needed from the yarn tails. Had to join 4 times during cast-off. You’d think the tails in pics 6 and 7 would have been sufficient to cast off those last few stitches, but no, the cast-off seriously gobbles up the yarn.

Finished shawl weighs 203.9 gr. On to the blocking….

The shawl has been taken up and re-pinned (156 pins) twice since the photo! I think it’s as good as it gets for now; space in my teeny house is really limited. The yarn seems quick to dry though, so it should be good to go by this evening.

ThatLoganChick writes the best patterns. This is a beautiful design, and the instructions are clearly laid out and easy to follow. Can’t believe it took me two years to cast on for it.

Had it not been for this pattern I wouldn’t have given the yarn a second glance. That would have been my loss; it’s just lovely.
