Made as a reversible, double-thick hat — I do not like cowls.

• CO 104 stitches using JMCO;
• Added two very soft 6-stitch cables;
• 4½ spi in both yarns using the smaller pins for the hand-spun;
• Tube worked to 46 cm (18”). Given the thickness of the yarn it could have stood to have been a bit longer, but I used all the yarn I had.

At 58.5 cm (23”) circumference it’s a bit too big for me, but it might be okay on days that aren’t too breezy.

I don’t care for it with the Malabrigo on the outside, so I may fiddle about to make the hat fit better, stabilising the two layers at the same time.

On grafting:
A much less visible join can be made if the grafting is not started at the beginning of round. Start grafting half a dozen stitches from the ends of the needles using a new piece of yarn. There will be no hole or unsightly join at the end provided care is taken to include both sides of all stitches.
