Grace let me pick out some yarn from her shop for my birthday and I chose some DIC Starry which I’ve been wanting to try for quite awhile. It’s definitely fun for girl stuff, and Camdyn (who normally wants me to knit in pink) loves the sparkles.

The finished sweater looks cute but I’m not totally happy with the fit across the back. I knit the portion 3” shorter than called for for Cam’s size and it’s still a bit roomy back there. I omitted the gathered section at the mid-back which could have helped bring things in there a bit, but wouldn’t have solved the fit at the armpit area. If you’re knitting this for a child it would definitely be best if you had them around for frequent fittings because I had to size down the 4/6 size quite a bit though Cam normally wears a 6 or 6x.

If I knit this again for Camdyn I’d initially cast on less stitches and have a narrower portion across the shoulders so it wouldn’t hang so low in back, and also cut out another inch or two across the back. I don’t know if I’ll be up for knitting this pattern again any time soon, but I would eventually like to see how it looks in laceweight.
