When my Granny’s eyesight began failing, she decided to make all of her grandchildren a baby blanket for their first born. Unfortunately my Granny died a year before I had my first child, but I was so grateful to have the lovely white blanket pictured.

When my Mom found out my first child was in reality TWO children (twins) she set out to find someone to duplicate the blanket my Granny made so I’d have one for each baby. Unfortunately no one could do it.

Now I’m going to try! The blanket I’m replicating is a simple sc-in-blo chevron pattern. I’m about 10% through and will write down the pattern and add it to the database as soon as I finish and get it tested!

80% into it & I finally checked my gauge. It’s wayyy off. Oops! It should be about 5 sc per inch. I believe my Granny used a “baby yarn”. Nowadays people are more inclined to use worsted weight yarn so the project goes faster.

I finally finished! Due to cutting our bad sections of the yarn I could only do 113 rows. I’ll take a final measurement once I block it.
