update 11/19/11
I’ve decided to sell Knitting Emergency! Stickers
so if you love the idea, and want to support me, you can follow this link, maybe you can give one to a friend as a Stocking Stuffer
and then shop Michael’s together in the post-Holiday Sales for Frames to DIY!
Make Your Own!
thus being able to afford lovely handpainted yarrrrn
I don’t mind AT ALL.
in fact, I don’t really want to sell them. I want to give them to my friends for Christmas!
So I’ll post instructions
but it’s so easy
you don’t really need instructions.
- Find 3” Deep, 8x10 Shadow Box at Michael’s ($12?)
- Special Skein of Awesome, as defined by You
- Stickers: I used a full sheet of frosted vellum type sticker made for Ink Jet Printing and printed a simple Text Box in an all caps font with “ IN CASE OF KNITTING EMERGENCY BREAK GLASS
(yours might be a dyeing emergency or a spinning emergency, like the last 2 pics)
center the text box on your sticker
I printed 3 per page in RED
Remember to arrange the glass with the
sticker right side up & the hanger bar at the top!
Place the yarn softly into the box, making sure it
covers all the glass evenly
it’s best if there’s enough yarn to fill the space
without causing any pressure on the glass
I like that my frames came with glass as the front and back
You can place labels facing the back, or a personal note
for your love to read, a secret to keep together!
reassemble spacers and arrange tags as you like best.
I found it took me at least twice with each one, even though
I did them, all in a row, and you’d think I’d get better at it!
