A sample to show what you can do with 150g 600yd Shawl Specials, besides shawls!
Modifications: the pattern is written for 400yds, though I imagine throwing this featherweight tunic on over my yoga clothes, so I’ll extend the hemline with the extra 200yds, and make it a bit hi-low with some short rows.
the pattern is only written for one size “oversize”
I was skeptical, but was pleased to find it does stretch and expand to fit me, a typical American size 14/16, with some positive ease. I did modify the neckline cast on to 90 instead of 60, and simply omitted the increase line that increased to 90 from 60, from there able to follow directions as written. I did not size up the top, just the neckline.
*** I need not have done this. Despite my reluctance, I am now convinced 60 st cast on would have been fine.
next time: 60 st cast on, maybe some short rows to make the cap sleeves a bit longer, and instead of short rows just in the back for a hi-lo hemline, maybe some short rows front and back (not sides) for a curved hemline. I’d also omit the two dark stripes in the blank that end up right across the center of the chest.
I’m SUPER excited about the wearing potential for this.
A simple 4 day super-fast knit that takes just 150g?
I’m casting on another tonight
