I knit my Throwback with a commercial 4/15 lambs wool from ColourmartUK marled with a silk &cashmere lace weight I hand painted in Honeymoon variegated
My body is much wider and shorter than the designer’s, and while she does do all the math to give us large sizes (thank you Andrea!) that doesn’t make the motif larger, just adds more repeats of the same motif.
I also happen to be very comfortable with 2 colors per row fair isle, and very quickly annoyed with 3 colors per row. I made each of my contrast chevrons 2 rows deeper than the chart, (no stitches wider) and this sized up the motif in the way I wanted, with the added bonus of making each row worked with just two colors at a time.
My gauge was way off the first time, (my fault; marling) and I like an Old Navy style “tiny fit” cardi, so I ended up knitting the smallest size to fit my 44” bust
Other mods: ergonomic sleeves and attached fingerless gloves,
repeated Chart A once more just before hemline,
3/3 ribbing instead of 4/4,
buttonholes in the placket and
I knit the collar and placket all of a piece using increases at the corner every other right side row for a neater finish.
