The Katya pattern lends itself well to fanciful crewel and bold color. My stash overflows with gorgeous bits and a bevy of beads from which to choose. For me, however, I reach for my rich favorites and they never disappoint! Here we have several simple embroidery stitches holding hands around the body of the hat for loads of interest and gripping color groupings. Beads of varied scale and color add the twinkle in contrast to the wool. Two different greens make up the foundation set aglow by the aqua stitches. Grown-up playfulness!
