I started with a provisional cast-on at the neck and knitted in the round in stocking stitch. I then used the star stitch for the midriff and the cuffs, and the blossom stitch for the skirt. I didn’t care for the original edging, so I just ended it with the blossom stitch. The stitch pattern isn’t half as difficult as it looks. The chart is easy to follow. I knitted the whole dress without any maths, including the increases at the waist and in the collar.
I bought a petticoat especially to make the skirt fall as it should.
