Based on the pattern gauge, it seems like this pattern is written to have zero ease, which seems too big to me. My gauge was actually tighter than recommended (8.5 sts/inch versus the pattern gauge of 8 sts/inch) but the sock was still too loose when worked over the 72 stitches recommended for my size. I ended up going down to 68 stitches, which worked out a lot better.
