I bought this yarn undyed and unlabeled at Wool-Tyme in Ottawa, and dyed it with Johanna of Lofty Fibres, to match the bridesmaids’ dresses for my friend Kaitlyn’s wedding. The scrap of cardboard in the photo with the yarn in skeins shows the dress colour well.

Unblocked gauge in lace pattern on 3mm needles is 22 sts/38 rows. Ish. (Silk isn’t stretchy, but it skews one way or another so easily!) Blocked, my gauge is still slightly larger than the pattern calls for, because this silk is heavier than the Malabrigo Sock the pattern was designed for. I don’t want to go down to a smaller needle size, or the fabric will be too dense.
I’m knitting the 30” size, though my friend’s bust measurement is 37”, because the gauge difference plus negative ease should work out nicely.

Used this method for buttonholes, as my buttons are larger than would fit in the typical eyelet buttonholes. The buttons, incidentally, came from Darrell Thomas in Ottawa -- they’re these ones, in the 1/2” size.
