Notes

I’ve had this project in my queue since long before Ravelry… I’ve also been eyeing the Manos yarn for years. However, I could never quite convince myself to spring for the required quantity. Until, that is, my LYS announced that it’s going out of business! Sad, sad, news -- except that all the yarn went on 50% off. Now I have my yarn, and my Clapotis is flying along!

I chose a lovely, rich but neutral colourway so I can leave this over the back of my chair at work, and have something warm to snuggle into whenever I get chilly.

With 5 skeins of the Manos and size 9 needles, I did 6 repeats (not 7) of the increase section, and 9 (not 13) of the straight section. I had maybe 1/4 skein left over. If I were doing it over again, I would probably do fewer increase repeats and more straight repeats -- the Clapotis is sort of stubby as is. (Measurements to come.)

Also, I alternated rows with two skeins of yarn, to even out the differences in the hand-dying. Glad I did, but it does mean that the edges lose some elasticity and tend to pull in somewhat.

I’m going to block this, to combat the curling and edge-pulling. Hopefully the drape will improve somewhat.
