This is a “seconds” yarn from Gauge. I think it’s an experimental colourway — I can see that there are definitely two pinks and two blues; the two oranges are much closer to each other, and the two greens are practically indistinguishable from each other. (There are no knots or splotches in the skein, as far as I could determine when winding.) But EEEEE, it’s such a cheerful colourway! It’s like knitting with the contents of an ice cream shop — various sorbets and then pistachio gelato or mint ice cream.

I was getting a fairly big ladder at the sides (knitting the body with magic loop), so I took a crochet hook and laddered that up on the wrong side, so it’s a reverse-stockinette faux seam. Looks nice and tidy, though it’s tighter in the fabric that had already been knit, and looser once I started working it as I knit…

64.3 gr remaining after knitting the body. Think I’ll do the collar next, and then the sleeves.

The collar will be in the mint green. I’ve also got a wee ball of scrap Wollmeise (4.8 gr) in a bright, clear orange that I’m wondering about adding as a pop of contrast at the end of the blue in the striping sequence — duplicate stitch in the sweater body, but just knitting a round with it at the start of the sleeves, and maybe adding it to the collar somehow as well? Just to kind of nudge this out of “super sweet” territory and make it a bit more gender neutral, and also to delineate that one colour change from blue to mint that’s just… less impactful than I’d like.

I decided to go ahead with the orange Wollmeise. Duplicate-stitched around the torso to delineate the blue and the mint green, and actually knit it into place on the sleeves. I ended up doing a duplicate-stitch star on the front as well, which I’m quite happy with. Probably would have been better as intarsia, but it was an afterthought — and it does sort of pull things together somehow.
