I love this pattern. My first real lace… Okay, maybe I swore at it a bit while I got used to reading the chart, but I do love it now.

I knit the pattern as written, except that I repeated chart F 2.5 times (161-192 x 2, then 181-192 x 1) instead of knitting F & G. I liked the organic flow of F much better than the structured pattern in G. I also added 4 more rows to the ruffle at the end, as the 7 listed in the directions just didn’t look substantial enough.

I am also planning to knit another Hanami, for my sister, in darker-pink Misti Alpaca. I’ll knit the blossoms-only modification for her, but I’m toying with the idea of adding some silver-lined beads like little raindrops in amongst the blossoms.

Unblocked measurements: 17x49”. Blocked measurements: 18x70”.
