Cast on 450 sts (long tail CO) and joined in the round. Working 400 sts in linen stitch, bordered by a column of twists sts on either side. The remaining sts are worked in stockinette, and I’m changing yarns by overlapping a few sts in the centre of that section. I’ll cut up the centre and unravel the stockinette to make a fringe.

One round takes approx. 5.5 grams in the Koigu.

The vast majority of this is stash yarn. The MadelineTosh Unicorn Tails are not, but the deep colours needed something punchy to make them pop, and what better than neon yellow? A little goes a long way.

Done! I secured the edges with a zigzag stitch on my sewing machine and then cut up the middle of the stockinette portion. I pulled out the ends (each caught in a couple of stitches) and then started unravelling.

After I unravelled the fringe (which tripled in length) the scarf measured 194 gr and 54” by 8”. After blocking, the scarf is 70” by 7.5”. A much better length, and a lovely fabric.
