So teeny! (But cables knit in yarn this fine, knit tightly to keep stuffing from showing through, are fiddly. I used a darning needle as my cable needle.)

The pattern is brilliant, in rejigging the cable motif from the Owls sweater & elsewhere into something fully 3D. It’s not written for any specific gauge; it just so happened that I only had owl-y yarn in fingering weight, so eensy is the size I ended up with! (He’s maybe 2.5” high?)

I didn’t have circs fine enough to do the cast-on specified in the pattern, so I had to cast on and seam up the bottom -- not as elegant, but it worked.

The owl didn’t really LOOK like an owl until it had (a) eyes, (b) the top grafted, and (c) the ‘branch’ to perch on. But now? I’m pretty smitten. :)
