I’m a little confused by the written instructions for this hat -- it’s not clear whether there should be one lace panel, or two (in opposing quadrants) because there is no statement about how the horizontal pattern repeat works. I’m doing ONE lace section, not two, in any case.

I’m knitting the largest size, though the medium might have fit in the intended gauge; because I’m using a fingering weight yarn instead of sport weight, this hat is lighter weight and slightly finer gauge.

I worked a round of straight knit stitches after the 8 rounds of ribbing, to give the brim a tidy place to fold over, if I choose to wear it that way. (That said, in retrospect, I should have worked more ribbing if I wanted to fold it - it looks silly folded up, as is.)
