Bought the pattern and cast on in appreciation for everything the Harlot is doing for MSF and Haiti.

I did 2 extra repeats of the feather and fan section, to give the cowl extra length. The Panda Silk is beautiful yarn, but it doesn’t have a lot of body, so I knew even while knitting that the cowl would tend to crumple around the neck. The extra length gives it a better chance of actually keeping a neck warm!

I was originally making this for myself, but decided part-way through to give it to my husband’s coworker instead. She’s in the process of escaping an abusive marriage, with her three little kids, so we wanted to give her a tangible sign of encouragement.

Feb. 1/10: Blocked! The stitch definition and sheen of this yarn is really lovely. The cowl grew a fair bit in length, and the patterning just pops now. Very happy with the result!
