Notes

Loved the original colors, but I’m budget conscious and was inspired by Professorfonz’s creation. The yarn is super soft and nearly felts on contact.
A Black
B Pink Frost
C Shocking Pink
D Pearl
E Plomo
F Periwinkle
G Cirrus Gray
H Blue Surf
I Emerald
J Bbby Blue
K Cactus flower
L Bergamota
M No Me Olvides
N Violetas
Wound all the yarn into balls and then realized I’d need two balls for each color in order to do check color transitions in the swatch and still reuse the yarn. I only had patience for 1 1/2” swatch, but based on that, this yarn yielded a 90% size, so made size two hoping for 35” bust. Guage swatch was unreliable because I tried it on after the big flower and the yoke was way too long for my little frame. Separated for arms at center of big flower (row 15). Put 5 flowers in front (for my big bust, 3 in back (for my small back), and 3 on each sleeve used the pattern increases in row 16 for the underarm increases.

One of my favorite things about knitting my own sweaters is tailoring them to fit my unusual frame. I tried following the directions- results on my body= boxy. I tried decreasing below the color work, reusults= weird puffines. I played with chart C rows 31-45 reducing 14 sts overall for each repeated chart, results= Betty Boop over emphasis. Finally just decreased 4 sts in rows 31-41, results= just right. I also added a row 46 because I love when colorwork extends past a straight boundary. Since color suggestion for row 44 was missing, I did 44 like 45, and 46-47 main color AA. The fit is much more to my liking now. I also knit the black main color part on US3’s. The sleeves were still weirdly huge on me, so I frogged and decreased between large flowers. There’s still some puffiness in the top of the sleeves. I probably should have started with size 1. Stuck with it. Reduced row 16 by k2tog sts 1/2, 3/4, 29/30. Reduced row 31 by k2tog sts 4/5, 6/7, 28/29, 30/31. 4. I’m pretty happy with the fit. The yarn is exceptionally soft and sticky- great combination for colorwork.
