Cast on 96 on US2’s for our gigantic 1 year old who already wears 2T clothes. I’m hoping this will fit him next fall, so I made a modified size 2-4. Switched to US5’s after ribbing for color work. Made my own charts for the yoke (decided not to use leaf or butterfly because it started to look too busy and I had enough yoke depth). If you use my charts, please credit me and do not sell items. Caterpillar thanks to Rooknits. Separated strands to tack down top of caterpillar and create hairs. Mixed lavender and brown yarns for embroidered feet and antennae. Embroidered eyes before attaching caterpillar to sweater. Tacked down bottom of caterpillar and head using same color yarn.

Sleeves: picked up extra sts and decreased to 46. Knit 12 rows then decreased k2tog and ssk every 6 rows until there were 30 sts. Knit until sleeves were 8”. Switched to US 3’s and knit 1 row green then 1x1 ribbing, last row plus bind off in red.

Still too big on our huge one year old, but he’ll grow into it.
