Cast on 76 on 3’s in Tranquil. Did seed stitch button band (I’d do all one color or garter if I did this again- the stripes are muddy). For buttonholes, k1 p1 bound off next two stitches, k1. Next row p1 k1 m2 p1. Switched to Wave Heather after ribbing and knit 2 rows of each color. knit 3 rows stockinette of wave heather and switched to shark chart (which I created- feel free to use but credit me please- story below). Knit 3 more rows of wave heather stockinette and switched to wave chart created by Sargentana Formenterenca. Switched to tranquil, knit 3 rows in stockinette knit. Ribbed bottom per pattern in tranquil. For sleeves, used this tutorial to create jogless stripes magic loop. I picked up about 4-5 stitches from the body and then k2tog. in the same place each round until I was back to my original count. Used 3 needles throughout.

Story: My friend cheered Oceana’s mascot, the shark, alongside his high school sweetheart. Eventually they married. After college he came back to teach at his alma mater. When I heard his wife was pregnant, I looked all over for a shark chart to no avail. I created one because I thought if any baby should be adorned in sharks it was this baby.
