Notes

Paul has been asking me for socks since before we got married. So I finally braved sock knitting and made him a pair. They were supposed to go in his Christmas stocking but I was slow starting them so I finished them the day before Valentine’s Day for his Valentine’s present :)

They were much easier than I thought, and kind of fun, once I got past the boring leg part. It helps that I chose a pattern with worsted weight yarn knit on size 6 needles. I think knitting with real sock yarn would be quite tedious. The pattern was clearly written and very easy to follow, even for a newbie. They fit me perfectly, so I’m hoping they fit him - his feet are only slightly longer than mine, but narrower. I know they are guy socks and all, but next time I’ll choose something just slightly more interesting than dark gray. They are definitely steel gray, not brown like they look in the process photo.

Used just BARELY less than one skein. I had another, but didn’t really want to add new yarn at the toe. Now I can knit a Milo for the new baby with the extra skein :)
