LOVE this F.O. Lots of compliments on it. It took just about EXACTLY 6 skeins of Paton’s Classic Wool Merino for the 43” bust measurement size. I wish I had made it the next size down because after blocking things always grow a bit, but it will still fit!

Slight modification: I am short (5’ 3”) so I made one less increase in the bust, otherwise the finished cardigan would have been too long on me.

11/09: Changed the buttons for this, the first ones were unspectacular, love the new bamboo ones! A special sweater deserves special buttons!

TIP: The photo of 2 little squares are what I did to reinforce the buttons, a tip I got from an online knitting friend. Made 4 squares of 10 stitches and about 12 rows each and felted them. These sit in back of the sweater and buttons were sewn through the sweater into them. It really helps keep the buttons from tugging on the actual sweater itself. Great idea!!!!!!!

6/5/08: FINISHED!!!!!!!!! Now all I need are the buttons……..and 50 degree cooler weather!!!!!!!!!!! It will be months before I can wear it but it was worth it!!!!!!!

5/08: Started 2nd sleeve. Can’t wait to have it finished! I STILL love the pattern!

2/08: The twisted 2x2 ribbing looks great.
