The only reason this project took over two years to finish is that it sat in hibernation for about 18 months while I worked on my mother’s afghan (the Tunisian Terror).

Followed the pattern exactly, except I made the button bands a little wider (10 rows instead of 6) and added a fourth button. Also, accidentally used a US 2 needle for the neck and button bands instead of a US 1. Still looks good.

Blocked before adding the neck and button bands because it makes picking up stitches much easier.

The stockinette seems endless, but this tweedy yarn looks pretty in such a plain stitch.

Yarn notes: Silky Wool is not a good yarn for seaming; it’s a little fragile and kept catching and breaking when I tightened up the mattress stitch. So I used a smooth leftover sock yarn in a similar color for all seams.
