Notes

My 100th Project (according to Ravelry). Let’s just roll with it!!!

Couldn’t help myself- I’ve wanted this cowl for a while, and the Diary of a Yarn Snob & Milkshed Blog KAL was just the push I needed to finally do it.

Using some of my precious cashmere blend yarns- including two from my trip to Cape Breton. Winding up the Casbah Sock made me smile and remember how beautiful it was. Oh, Canada!

Cast on with Size 0 needles to tighten up the ribbing. Will switch to Size 2 for body. The Casbah Sock is very fuzzy, but it will feel SOOO good around my neck!

Ended up swapping out the light pink Casbah with the leftover Birthday Cake Hedgehog Fibres Sock from my sock head hat. I think it looks much cuter now!

I also completely forgot to use the smaller needles for the ribbing at the end. No big deal.

I liked this pattern a lot, but by the lace I was SOOO ready for it to end. I resisted binding off early, but really wanted to.

If I were to knit this again I’d probably shorten the band lengths and use more of my leftover sock yarns to add even more color.

I’m going to try and squeeze a pair of socks out of the Destiny yarn because it was so lovely to work with. The Casbah was also wonderful, but I’m not sure I’ll have enough for a full pair of socks. Perhaps I’ll try for some Rose City Rollers.

Overall, super pleased with the finished object- too bad it’s getting so warm now! I nearly overheated just trying it on! Ah, well- there’s always next year.
