Ran into some lovely variegated yarn the other day. Of course it helps when the yarn (sort of) shares your name :) I saw some cute grungy amineko’s right away so here goes.

There’s enough yarn for at least two neko’s on a skein. This yarn is a very long color repeat so there’s no planning how the colors will come out. I think I’ll make all the body parts for two neko’s at once and then assemble them. Should be fun.

Update May 14: I weighed the skein after the first and second set of Neko parts and it seemed like I would be able to make a third one out of this skein. Finished the parts today with a few grams left! Now for the mix & match session.

Update May 19: Finished & photographed. I really like how these came out. The next skein of Carina will go to a big Amineko (the large pattern from the book). It took me less than 3 skeins of cotton for the black one I did with that pattern where the normal takes almost one skein of cotton so hopefully I can get a big Amineko out of one skein of Carina.
