The challenge: can I knit this before the hot weather goes away? Secondary challenge: can I knit this (without sleeves) in the second size with just 4 skeins of yarn?

8/7: who needs a swatch when the first step of the pattern is only 19sts across?

8/20: I knit the wings that become the back about an inch and a half longer than directed (because I wasn’t measuring often enough.) But given the 1-4” of ease expected in the garment I didn’t rip back.

Fitting notes: I knit the 37” size and have a 37” bust, I like that the neckline and shoulders aren’t quite as droopy as in the pattern photos. But that’s personal preference! I also tacked the back at the underarms since I didn’t add sleeves which helps stabilize the whole garment. I also slipped the first stitch of each row as is my habit. Not sure I’d recommend that along the neckline with all the increases, but I made it work during blocking.

Yardage note: Even with extra length in the back/hem I have maybe 1/4-1/3 of a skein of yarn left. It might be possible to knit the second size with just 4 skeins even if you included the sleeves, as long as you make it the right length.
