3/1 - This was the first time that I had knitted with this yarn and overall I am pleased with the way that it turned out. It’s a silky yarn which isn’t too bulky, perfect for a little girl who never feels the cold.

In the photos it looks quite big on her but this was deliberate. It was knitted in age 4-5 and she has only just turned 4 so there is plenty of room for growth. Hopefully it will wash well.

I really like the way that the pattern has turned out especially on the back although I don’t have a great photo of this at the moment. There was too much Christmas excitement going on for her to pose for very long.

The pattern is written, which to me makes it seem unnecessarily complicated. I compiled a chart using Excel which made it much more straight forward. I was a bit concerned that the neck was going to look too big after I had picked it from the yoke. However, I went with it and after the cardigan was sewn up and blocked up it looked fine. The buttons which could have be made especially for this cardigan are vintage ones I bought at Yarndale.
