Using the handspun yarn bought in Leiden, lining them with leftover alpaca for both extra warmth and to avoid complaints of scratchiness.
CO 24 (28) (well 48/56, then began the double knitting)
15 rows of 2x2 ribbing
4 rows of stockinette before thumb gusset begun
6 (8) thumb stitches set aside
15(7) more rows worked before beginning decreases.
Small size decreases:
1 plain knit round between decrease rounds 2x, then decrease until 4 remain
Large size decreases:
2 rows in between 3x
1 row in between until last two dec, worked immediately following.
Thumbs:
7 (9) rows worked on thumb avant decrease.
Interesting structure-- one ply was consistently spun tight, in some spots obviously overspun, but then plied with a much airier, barely spun ply.
