Cast these on this morning and the colour is wonderful and shows the pattern well :). I think that Anzula Squishy may be dyed on the same yarn base as Caper Sock (another sock yarn that I have really liked and which wears like iron)? If not, it’s realllly similar, right down to the little puffs of fluff that sometimes appear along the strand.
I’ve gone up a needle size because I don’t want to compact the wonderful squishy feel of the yarn and I think that the size 2 will give me a 8.5”/9” circumference sock that should fit nicely.
Love the pattern so far, easy to follow and when you get to the second pattern row of the chart you see the little ‘circle’ that the cables are making so it’s no longer necessary to look at the chart other than to make sure you’re starting and ending with the correct crossings.
I did make a dumb error and that was starting at the ‘top’ of the chart (which turned out to be row 6 when I looked carefully) so I’m doing the chart in reverse row-wise but I just have to remember that I did that so the second sock will look the same!

Made it down the leg to the heel on the first sock and did the ribbing and the first pattern repeat on the second sock.
Note: since the front honeycomb panel and the back rib panel do not have the same length, I knit until the front measured 5.25” and the back measured 6” in length before starting the heel flap. Then, since my gauge is different (especially row gauge), I went back down to the smaller needle—2.75mm—to knit the heel flap and turn the heel. At 16 slipped stitches, the heel flap measures just shy of 2.25”.

Love these socks, the fit, the squishyness, the cheerful colour are all making me feel happy on a grey autumn day. Top marks for both Anzula Squishy and Dawn Henderson <3
