Swatched this evening with two repeats (lengthwise) in the round. The yarn I’m using is just a bit lighter-weight because I want it to feel airy but it expands with washing so I feel that the pattern will show well. The damp swatch measures 23 x 7 cm - 18 rows high and 34 stitches wide (double as it is knit in the round). This size swatch shows me the full pattern and should make a nice ear-warmer for my little girl ;).

20 Sept. - Dry swatch is good. Casting on with the TECHknitting circular cast-on for a smooth join. As ever, I am happy with the results of this cast on though I did modify to the join to suit the pattern (slip first stitch PM, start pattern row 1 continue to last 2 stitches (slipped stitch +last stitch) knit these two stitches together with tail yarn and working yarn. Knit with ‘tail yarn’ and working yarn held together for first 4 stitches of pattern row 2 after marker.

21 October - As every I am so pleased with how this yarn ‘fluffs’ during the washing and blocking process, one can really see the difference between the ‘in progress’ photo and the FO photo. Great pattern and very easy to follow - I put a marker at each pattern repeat and they kept me perfectly on track throughout the project!
