Notes

Decided to try and bang out a quick summer top before summer is over! Have loads of linen in my stash so I’m trying it out, seeing that lots of other people tried it too and they didn’t have any trouble.

It’s going very quickly. I have to say that the Katia linen yarn seems less ‘splitty’ to work with than the Alfama and it’s also glossier. Happy that I chose to work with my Lykke wooden needles because they’re round enough to help avoid the splitting but still pointy enough to handle the rows of YO, K2TOG.

Got the sides sewn up today. It was easy to do but I did count rows and put a marker on both sides about every 20 rows to make sure that I was staying on track. I made the back netting section longer than the front so it fits more comfortably and the boat neck shape doesn’t ride too high (happy with that mod). A bit sorry that it started with knitting the back, the cast on edge looks much tidier than the cast off edge so it left me wishing that I’d done the stockinette part in the round.
