Making this for Christmas for my daughter. Yarn is held double and gauge is slightly tighter than pattern. That’s good because my daughter has a 33” bust so the 36.5 of the first size would swallow her up otherwise.

Went up to a size 8 needle to keep the body fabric more flexible. Did two short rows across back right before separating for sleeves/yoke section so body length is 8” in front and 8.75” in back. Starting on sleeves tomorrow, hard to do it all when she is here. One more reason to hate the pandemic which has all of our middleschoolers doing distance learning disappointed

Short rows to raise back neck

After joining body and sleeves, added an additional 5 short rows across shoulders and back to raise the back neck. It elongates the back triangle and makes the decreases finish earlier there, but hopefully it will help avoid the ‘cold nape’ syndrome I get when wearing my other carbeths. I think it looks fine, small compromise for better wearability.
