03-17-2018

This is a LOT of stockinette on small needles so I mostly work on it when I skype with my mom in Texas on Saturdays I finally have the body at 30 cm (11.9 in) but I want it longer since I don’t wear a lot of high-waisted pants and skirts and I don’t want to have cold kidneys! May make the sleeves first and see how much yarn I have left on that skein.

Halfway through the second sleeve! Getting close to the fun bit of the yoke :)!!!

Finally got to the yoke…I’m really hoping that I like the finished sweater a lot because I am (and have already) invested substantial time in thousands of tiny stitches. Fingers crossed!

added two shortrows at the back of the neck before starting the ribbing. Fit seems good before blocking.

08-17-2018 Washed and blocked but not cropped!

Finally washed and blocked yesterday. The silk stretched a bit but nothing that a quick 15 min in the dryer on the wool setting didn’t fix. I am very, very glad that I lengthened the torso to 14”. As you can see from the photos of me wearing it, had it been 4” shorter at the pattern length of 10” it would have been right at the waistline of my jeans, emphasizing the ‘widest’ part (cough-cough) of my body. I’m afraid that the ‘cropped’ silhouette of a lot of Kate’s newest designs is really not suited to my figure but now that I know, I’ll be sure to factor in extra yarn for any other projects where the pattern suggests a 10” torso length!

01-10-2019 How it wears

I love, love, love this sweater. I wear it so often and am pleased every time. Lots of stockinette on small needles but worth it for something that’s so comfortable and pretty.
